Another Democratic Senatorial candidate caught lying about Vietnam service

The mere fact that Connecticut Senatorial candidate Richard Blumenthal has been caught lying about his Vietnam service - by the New York Times no less - may not prevent him from winning the seat, if the example of Massachusetts Senator John Kerry is a precedent.

Kerry told numerous lies about his Vietnam days and has remained safely ensconced in his Senate seat nonetheless. Democratic politicians believe that mere lies, or as they like to call them, "misstatements", are no reason to question a Democratic candidate's qualifications for office - remember Bill Clinton? It will be interesting to see whether Connecticut voters agree this time.

I'd like to see some genuine Vietnam vets, especially those that served more than one tour, publicly... enlighten Blumenthal about honor, duty, country in some sort of nationally televised round table or the like.
